Leaning into curiosity is the key to bridging divides, according to author Mónica Guzmán

What’s happening:

Mónica Guzmán, who wrote “I Never Thought of it That Way: How to Have Fearlessly Curious Conversations in Dangerously Divided Times,” is speaking at Delta College on Thurs., April 9.

Guzmán is a journalist and author who believes that curiosity and conversation can resolve some of the tension surrounding the 2024 election season.

Her talk, titled “Bridging Divides with Curiosity and Conversation,” is part of the Delta College President's Speaker Series.

Why it matters:

Guzmán is a Mexican immigrant, Latina, and dual US/Mexico citizen. She travels the country talking about how curiosity drives us to ask important questions and build bridges with each other.

From Guzmán’s website:

“Ready to fight back against the confusion, heartbreak, and madness of our dangerously divided times? Find the answers you need by talking with people—rather than about them—and asking the questions you want, curiously. Seeing where people are coming from isn't just possible. It's easier than you think."
