8,800 Square Foot Grand Ledge Building Gets Complete Renovation

An 8,800 square foot former auto parts warehouse in downtown Grand Ledge has been transformed into a mixed-use building that includes four condos and covered parking.

It took Maple Street Investments three years to renovate the 300 N. Bridge street property. Dave Kuntzsch and his partners had to replace the exterior brick, power wash and degrease the 150-year-old maple floors, and install new windows, among other improvements.

“This is great for the community,” says Kuntzsch about the renovation. “This building was useless.”

Three of the four 1,000 square foot condos inside sold in the first month. At $100,000 each, Kuntzsch says the lofts are a great deal, especially when compared to the high price of lofts in other downtowns.

“I thought we’d have snowbirds, but it’s the young people who don’t want to live in a Downtown Lansing loft, but did want to live downtown,” says Kuntzsch.

Maple Street Investments bought the property for $75,000 and estimate its worth at $750,000.
