As part of a university plan to reduce the strain on the environment, the Michigan State University (MSU) Board of Trustees has agreed to invest $13.3 million in a new university recycling center.
MSU
already recycles many materials; however, not all campus buildings are
set up for recycling. The $13.3 million investment will allow the
university to recycle five materials in 579 university buildings.
MSU is aiming to have all 579 buildings recycling the five materials by 2010, doubling MSU’s recycling effort.
The
school recycles cardboard, plastic, mixed paper and white paper. This
year the university will start increasing its recycling efforts in
residence halls.
