This Saturday, May 19, the Great American Fierce Beard Organization (GAFBO) will be hosting "
Love through the Ages: A Prom for Adults." The event aims to be "just like your high school prom, except it will be fun."
The good folks over at GAFBO aren't just hosting this fun-filled event for the fun of it ... the prom will benefit
Potter Park Zoo! Also, they want to be very clear: formal attire isn't suggested, it's requied; the more ridiculous, the better.
GAFBO prompts those attending, "guys, go out and get your best powder blue tuxedo. Ladies we want to see you with shoulder pads taller than your dress is long, or with bangs that reach to the heavens before curling back down onto your beautiful faces."
Every person in attendance will have an opportunity to be named GAFBO Prom King or Queen, complete with sash, tiara, scepter and certificate.
There will be dancing, hor d'oeuvres, drinks, dancing, prizes, dancing, prom gifts, dancing, raffle items, and some more dancing.
Tickets can be
purchased in advance for $20, or are $25 at the door.
