Starting on May 8th,
Sparrow Health System's Promise Project broke ground on what will be a huge investment in the future of community care. With a projected budget of $9 million, and a time span of 15 months, this renovation promises to be one of the most significant health care upgrades we've seen in a long time.
Sparrow and the
Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital have a long history of partnership. And it's been a very fruitful relationship so far. Working together, the collaboration has brought new information technology and additional orthopedic services to the people of Charlotte.
AL!VE has been expanded, and a new family practice site was opened in Eaton Rapids. But as it turns out, that was just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more in the works.
The Promise Project renovations will bring sweeping changes on the HGB campus. Some services will be moved, while other will be upgraded or replaced. Like the surgery department, which will be expanded, and several other clinical services which will be more integrated. And the end goal? What does Sparrow and HGB hope to achieve with this multimillion dollar overhaul?
First and foremost, the goal is to offer top-of-the-line care to all Charlotte residents, and everyone living in the surrounding areas. As Dennis Swan, President & CEO of Sparrow Health System puts it, the plan is to "deliver benchmark-level care to Eaton County residents." And Matthew W. Rush, FACHE, President & CEO of Hayes Green Beach is in total agreement. As he explains it, HGB's affiliation with Sparrow allows them to "achieve aspirational goals in quality and patient experience" and "create more value for those we serve."
It's something they've been at a long time - serving their community - and they're very proud of their achievements so far. Which is why a portion of the Promise Project includes 'Heritage Hall'. This portion of the project will transform the entrance areas of the main campus into spaces dedicated to HGB's history of service. Heritage Hall will be open to the public, celebrating the role HGB has served in the community for the last 85 years.
In the end, when the renovation wraps in November of 2019, and the entire hospital campus has been updated, HGB will reopen as Sparrow Eaton Hospital. A refreshed campus, new services under a new name, and a proud tradition of caring for the community. It's a partnership that's slated for great things.
