Publicom grows staff, plans for more hires

Publicom has been on the forefront of Lansing’s marketing and creative services industry for more than 30 years – and they’re still growing. Over the last year, the firm has added two new positions, promoted from within and are looking to create up to two new jobs in the near future.

“Last year was our best year ever,” says Publicom President Lisa O’Connor. “Every year for the last four years has been successively better.”

The new positions include an account planner and public relations director. O’Connor hopes to add two new creative staff for a full- and part-time position in the near future.

“While we’re able to handle the work we have well, we can’t grow until we have more capacity,” says O’Connor. “If we can add some more capacity, we can add some more opportunities.”

O’Connor attributes Publicom’s growth to both the success and expansion of their current clients, and consistent referrals.

“It feels like we’ve hit a tipping point,” O’Connor says. “Last December I got a call from a client every week who wanted to refer more business to us. Our current clients have been very successful, and as they have expanded, so have we.”

Publicom specializes in marketing and promoting clients in the services industry, such as long-time client McLaren Health Care and new client the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
