Construction on Davis Row townhouses begins near downtown Ann Arbor

The plans are approved, the hole is dug, and the basement walls of the Davis Row development near downtown Ann Arbor are getting ready to rise.

"We should be pouring the basement walls next week," says Dan Williams, who's company, Maven Development, is behind the townhouse development.

Davis Row will be made up of four townhouses on the 300 block of West Davis Street. The development is replaces two rental houses that were razed with four townhouses with three bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. Each unit will measure between 1,900 and 2,100 square feet. They are designed in an arts & crafts style.

"This style of development is more in the line of creating a traditional home than a downtown condo," Williams says. "People can have the feel of a traditional house but within walking distance of downtown."

Maven Development expects the project to be finished in early 2017. Each unit is priced between $600,000 and $680,000.
