50 years, 50 stories: Robert Bruce Dunlap Memorial Fund

A Lasting Legacy of Community Support

A native of Ann Arbor, Bob Dunlap loved his hometown and supported many organizations that make our community a special place. When he died in 1994, his wife of 47 years, Connie Dunlap, established an unrestricted fund at the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation to honor his memory and support the community he called home. The Robert Bruce Dunlap Memorial Fund supports AAACF’s competitive grant program and strategic priorities, giving the Community Foundation both the capacity and flexibility to meet our community’s changing needs.

Two more funds have also been established in Bob’s memory. The Robert Bruce Dunlap Fund for Homeless & Foster Youth helps Ozone House serve young people who are homeless or have aged out of foster care. And each year the Robert Bruce Dunlap Memorial Awards Fund provides scholarship support for the Ann Arbor News Young Citizen of the Year Award finalists.

As Connie Dunlap explains, "Since Bob cared so much about Ann Arbor and was interested in so many different causes, AAACF seemed like the perfect vehicle in which to keep Bob’s memory alive and support the community we both love."

One of the many ways the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation supports all that is good in our community.
