Short-term training programs for high-demand positions now scheduled for 2019

Employers in Isabella County and surrounding areas may soon have more qualified applicants for high-demand positions as Mid Michigan College's 2019 schedule of short-term training programs is now available.

Short-Term Training provides participants with career-ready skills in the healthcare and skilled trade fields. The college says trainees can be prepared for entry-level positions and state certification exams in as little as three to nine weeks, and at potentially very little cost. Training costs may be significantly reduced or completely offset through MiWorks! assistance programs.

“Many of the careers connected to Mid’s Short-Term Training are ranked among the fastest growing occupations by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, including certified nurse assistants (CNAs) and Phlebotomists,” noted Kristine Stevens, Director of Business & Industry Training at Mid.

Mid’s Professional Development offerings provide an essential need in the surrounding area for individuals to broaden their skills.

Upcoming Short-Term Training and Professional Development opportunities are scheduled through 2019. Registration can be accessed on the Mid Michigan College website. Topics include phlebotomy, CDL, drone technology, welding, project management, manufacturing skills for the shop floor and more.
