24-hour fundraising event Give Local Isabella returns May 2

On May 2, 2023, the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation (MPACF) is hosting its third annual Give Local Isabella event.

This 24-hour annual fundraising event allows local non-profit organizations to raise funds in a dynamic, digital format. The event focuses on helping local organizations receive endowed funds. Endowed funds help community organizations exist long into the future. Any organization with endowments held by the MPACF is eligible to participate in Give Local Isabella.

“In addition to raising dollars directly, organizations can take part in fun, friendly competitions for matching gifts,” Foundation program officer, Jaimie Capen-Cascaddan, said.

For the past two years, Renaissance Public School Academy has been a top fundraiser.
Renaissance Public School Academy executive director, Lisa Bergman, encourages all eligible organizations to get involved.

“It’s great team building, it raises awareness of your organization, and it’s a super fun way to expand your endowment,” Bergman explained.

This year, organizers hope to surpass the 2022 Give Local Isabella, where more than $82,000 was raised.

“Give Local Isabella focuses our community for one day on a common cause – our community’s future,” said Steve Pung, development chair of the Community Foundation Board of Trustees.

Twenty four non-profit organizations are participating this year, including The Chippewa River District Library System, Christian Counseling of Mid Michigan, the Isabella Community Soup Kitchen, and Life Choices of Central Michigan. A full list of participating organizations can be found at givelocalisabella.org

The giving window will open at midnight on May 2 and will close at 11:59 p.m. Donations can be made online at www.mpacf.org
