Liz Fredendall, former Managing Editor of Epicenter Mt. PleasantFor nearly a year and a half, I’ve had the honor of working as the Managing Editor of Epicenter Mt. Pleasant.
My time at Epicenter had a positive and meaningful impact on me and I am glad that I had the opportunity to be a part of this publication.
I came to Central Michigan as a transfer student in my mid-20s and initially, I struggled to settle into my new home. After Epicenter launched in the summer of 2018, I was immediately onboard and have been ever since. Through this work meeting changemakers and community leaders, sharing stories about innovation and development across our region, Epicenter helped me forge an incredible connection to my newfound community.
Epicenter's primary goal - connecting people and communities through positive news - was something I was able to experience firsthand.
Jennifer Veitengruber, Managing Editor of Epicenter Mt. PleasantI am so grateful for my time with the publication and while it is bittersweet to be leaving, I know that you all are in good hands. I am thrilled to share with you that Jennifer “Jenny” Veitengruber, a long-time contributor to many of Epicenter’s sister publications, will be assuming the position and continuing the work of sharing news within our community and the incredible people who live here. I am confident that under her leadership Epicenter will continue to thrive and serve as a valuable resource in the Great Lakes Bay Region and beyond.
As I step away from this chapter of my journey, I would like to thank you all for your support and kind words over this last year.
Your engagement, enthusiasm, and commitment to the magazine are reflected in our contributors, and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Epicenter.
Until next time, see you around!
Liz Fredendall
