2011 vehicle permits available for Oakland County Parks

2011 Annual Vehicle Permits, offering unlimited entry to eight Oakland County Parks, went on sale Oct. 1 and are valid through Dec. 2011.

The vehicle permits also provide free parking at the Oakland County annual fireworks and the Oakland County Fair.

New this year, $22 permits will be offered for resident seniors age 62 and up, as well as adaptive and active military patrons. $30 permits are available for non-resident seniors age 62 and up, as well as non-resident adaptive and active military patrons.

For Oakland County residents, the standard rate is just $30 per permit or $46 per permit for non-residents.

The parks system offers trails for hiking, biking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing and equestrian use; lakes for boating, fishing and swimming; nature education opportunities at the Wint Nature Center; and more. Dogs and their owners will relish Lyon Oaks, Orion Oaks and Red Oaks off-leash dog parks.

Annual Vehicle Permits and Parks Perks Passes can be purchased at select permit sales locations; online at DestinationOakland.com; or by mail by completing a Vehicle Permit Form.
