Ann Marie's Gifts and Home Decor opens in Beaverton

If you're traveling through Beaverton anytime soon, you should take a quick stop at Ann Marie's Gifts and Home Decor, which recently opened in the Mid-Michigan town.

The store, located at 128 West Brown Street, provides local artists with a place to showcase their crafting talents. The store features jewelry, wood carvings, canvas art, local barn photos and weddings pictures, curtains, duvet covers and custom seamstress work. In addition, Ann Marie's features a local Amish family's baskets and handmade soaps and wooden signs and hand painted barn quilts utilizing old windows, doors and other items.

Inside one of main street's old brick buildings constructed in 1917 and first opened as a bakery, Ann Marie's features an old tin ceiling that has been copper patented and an old wooden floor to add to the rustic feel of the business.

"Bringing back businesses into downtown Beaverton is a priority and a welcome change of scenery," says Ann Heath, owner of the new business. "After seeing so many empty buildings over the past few years, it seems as though new life is being breathed back into Beaverton. Our local florist moved downtown, and is offering some lovely gifts as well as fresh arrangements. Pics Petals and Scents also moved their business downtown this year."
