Kerkau Manufacturing announces another Bay County expansion

A Bay County manufacturer has announced its third expansion in recent years.

Kerkau Manufacturing in Monitor Township announced it will invest more than $4.3 million in its Bay County facility, after the township board approved the company's application for an abatement on its taxes for the project.

The expansion is taking place at Kerkau's current manufacturing plant in the Valley Center Technology Park, where the company makes pipe flanges, medical sterilization cabinets, and other precision machined products for specialty industries. It will mean the manufacturer can expand its warehousing and its sales department, and will keep 35 jobs in the local economy rather than contracting out.

"Our company's focus on providing exceptional customer service, while producing quality products, and looking towards continual improvement has positioned us to continue to grow and invest," says Laura Horney, VP of Kerkau Manufacturing. "We have been very fortunate and we are grateful for the support we have received."

The Monitor Township DDA and Bay Future, Inc. both were part of securing the expansion and abatement funding.
