Holiday Inn of Midland will have a new general manager

The Holiday Inn in Midland has a new general manager, Bill Lucas. The owner of the hotel, Suburban Inns, announced Lucas' promotion to replace former GM Grant Hirst, who was named as the general manager of the company's newest hotel, the Courtyard by Marriott in Holland.

Lucas previously was the assistant general manager, and has been with the Holiday Inn in Midland since 2009. He has held several positions including banquet manager and director of sales, and has a total of 17 years of experience in hospitality.

"We like to promote from within our company, and Bill Lucas has shown he understands not only the hospitality business, but the way we do business at Suburban Inns," says Peter Beukema Jr., chief operating officer of Suburban Inns. "He has been part of the team that helped the Midland Holiday Inn win several awards and we're sure as general manager he'll maintain that level of quality."
