Sims to be new SVSU director of communications

Saginaw Valley State University will have a new face leading their communication, marketing and external affairs starting June 1.

The university has announced it has hired Linda Sims to lead the department. Her official title with SVSU will be senior executive assistant to the president and executive director for communications and external affairs (try fitting that on a business card!). She replaced Carlos Ramet, who has been appointed the associate dean of the College of Arts and Behavioral Sciences.

Prior to coming to SVSU, Sims worked with Consumers Energy, where she worked in public relations for more than three decades. The last 10 years, she served in the role of executive director of public affairs where she managed a team of 20 area managers across 68 counties in Michigan.
