Two Flint streets to be rebuilt

A new manufacturer moving into Flint is good news in the first place, but some more good news is coming with it; two local streets are getting upgrades to handle the heavier traffic.

Excerpt: Two city streets that will carry traffic to and from a new pipe manufacturing facility will be rebuilt with a $2.3 million grant from the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Stewart Avenue from Dort Highway to James P. Cole Boulevard, and Andrew Street, from Stewart to Wagner avenues, will be reconstructed to handle heavier loads, extending the life of the streets and to accommodate employee and commercial traffic, MDOT said in a news release.
