Greater Midland embraces community for the holidays

Taking great pride in serving the community, Greater Midland thrives in providing recreation, social services and wellness experiences. The center employs highly trained professionals to impact the lives of members and guests with the purpose of building healthier lives, together. Further, Greater Midland's goal is to make these experiences accessible to everyone.

Adam Salgat, senior marketing manager with Greater Midland, explains their mission as all encompassing. “At Greater Midland our goal is to make sure every resident of Midland County is healthy, engaged, stable and thriving.”

Greater Midland fulfills this purpose through a variety of efforts, including programs for all ages, memberships for overall wellness, childcare and more. An area of focus for the month of December includes several festive events, hosted at one of the six locations across the city and to draw the community close for the holidays.

The Christmas Jazz Concert will be taking place Sunday, December 10, from 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM at Grace A. Dow Memorial Library. Local musical group 'Blast From the Past' will be decking the halls with Christmas classics. The event is sponsored by Independence Village, and will be free to all attendees.

Dive & Decorate will be hosted at the Midland Community Center for all the youngsters of Midland. On December 15, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, kids can swim in the Oasis Pool, where there will be shatterproof Christmas ornaments floating that can be taken home out to decorate and hang on the tree. Snacks and drinks will be provided and the even is free for attendees, though a $3 late registration fee will be added after December 13.

Speaking of kids and holiday shopping, Greater Midland's Tennis, Pizza, and a Movie is your perfect solution for tying up last minute ends or a fun even with the family. The event runs Saturday, December 16, from 6:00 – 9:00 PM at the Greater Midland Tennis Center. Activities include playing tennis and other games, a movie and pizza for a cost of $15 per person.

Greater Midland is eager to provide outlets for individuals and families alike this holiday season, especially to enjoy time in the community through wellness.
