Traverse City will soon be home to a new addiction treatment center, the P.I.E.R. It’s a detox center located at 940 East 8th Street, run by
Addiction Treatment Services.
The center will hold a public open house on November 13 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., showing off its new facility. It includes twelve beds, group rooms, gender-specific accommodations, and a visiting area.
The name, P.I.E.R. stands for "promoting integrated and engaged recovery," emblematic of its approach to addiction care, which includes group and individual treatment, certified medical care and expanded detox services.
"Addiction is a healthcare issue. We want to make sure we have the most progressive medical center available to offer the intensive treatment addiction requires. We believe we've done that with the P.I.E.R.," says Christopher Hindbaugh, executive director of Addiction Treatment Services.
