The
Grand Traverse Bay YMCA based in Traverse City has a new executive director and CEO, Jay Buckmaster.
The board for the YMCA announced the hire of Buckmaster, who is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin.
He has a YMCA-heavy resume already; he's been senior group VP for the Tampa Metropolitan YMCA for the last two years, where he managed four Y facilities. In total, Buckmaster has worked in management roles for YMCAs in Wichita, Kansas; Milwaukee, and Stevens Point, Wisconsin, over a span of 18 years.
He'll start at Grand Traverse Bay, in its new building on Silver Lake Road, this month.
