New Leelanau Scenic Heritage Route website links local communities

Since M-22 has become one of the state's Scenic Heritage Route-designated highways, a new website has been created to connect locations along the route and make it easier for travelers and tourists to link up with them.

The website is administered by the Northwest Michigan Council of Governments and is located at M22LeelanauHeritageRoute.org, where visitors can find news, events, accommodations, food and amenities information from both public places like state parks and commercial vendors like restaurants, in townships and villages all along M-22.

It also offers a trip planner that allows prospective visitors to the area to build trips based on activities, attractions or whatever criteria they choose, including parks, beaches, water access, trails, wildlife conservation areas, museums, wineries, distilleries, restaurants, shops and hotels.

To have news, events or local information added to the site, contact Paul Bussey via email.
