Artists turn winter into summer with wine-inspired exhibit

It's not summer yet, but that's not stopping northwest Michigan wine lovers from celebrating. There's a whole weekend planned, "Taste the Passion," including an art exhibit, wine tastings (of course) and good company aplenty.

Excerpt: Michigan's wine country is some of artist Lisa Wilkins Schulte's favorite territory.

"The light is amazing, the scenery … the undulating countryside, the rhythm of the fruit trees and vineyards, the contrasting sharpness of the drops of the Sleeping Bear Dunes," said Wilkins Schulte, one of eight artists in this year's "Art From Michigan’s Wine Country" exhibit.
