St. Joseph

The history and romance of a hand-carved carousel at St. Joseph's Silver Beach has become one symbol of a city reclaiming its past. St. Joe, as it's commonly known, is also home to the picturesque Silver Lake Bluff Park, which overlooks Lake Michigan and yet is within walking distance of the downtown. The natural beauty of the city's unique sand dunes draws thousands of visitors each year. Parents magazine voted it one of the best family beaches in America. With its proximity to Chicago, just 90 miles away, St. Joseph is a natural escape from the metro area. It is the county seat of Berrien County, a deep water port for nautical business and travel, and its marinas are known for accommodating  Great Lake boaters. Festivals and art attractions lure visitors to this beach city all year long and also provide an anytime treat to the locals.
