Because of charitable donations totaling more than $550,000 in 2011 and a corporate culture that gives employees paid time off to volunteer, Eaton Corp. received a Spirit of Michigan award from the Michigan Association of United Ways.
Eaton's Galesburg facility was the winner in the medium-sized business category, for firms with 100 to 1,000 employees. This is the second year the Spirit of Michigan awards have been given.
