MLive: FireKeepers makes $17.5 million payment

FireKeepers Casino most recent round of revenue sharing amounted to $12.5 million for the state and about $5 million for area municipalities, reports MLive.

The casino, which was opened in 2009 by the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians, is required to distribute 2 percent of its slot machine revenue to the FireKeepers Local Revenue Sharing Board as part of a negotiated agreement with the tribe and the state for operations at the casino.
