B. C. Enquirer: Accountability part of KCC culture

Kellogg Community College has launched a large promotional campaign that asks students to think about what defines them, reports the Battle Creek Enquirer. The cultural shift started with a review of Student Code of Conduct and the school's desire to get students interested in updates to the code, said Holly McKee, director of support services.

Excerpt: "We have a lot of friendly reminders," McKee said. "We want our students to know they have rights, with those rights comes responsibilities and above all, we wanted them to be respectful … In the end, we’re hoping for a culture shift among the student body."

"We wanted to have a culture of accountability," where students and staff are more aware of what’s expected and keep each other in check, said Terah Zaremba, KCC’s director of academic advising and student life. "So we’ve literally embedded it in the culture."
