Local company featured in Google's economic report

Of the 27,000 Michigan-based businesses, publishers, and nonprofits that utilized Google search and advertising tools last year, it was a company with significant presence in Port Huron that was featured in Google’s 2018 Economic Impact Report.

The lone representative of the Great Lakes State to be featured in the report was Suburban Bolt and Supply. The industrial supplier is based in Roseville and has locations in Grayling and Port Huron.

According to the report, it was the transfer of power to the next generation of this family business when the company turned its attention to the Internet to gain new customers. The company used tools like Google Ads, Google Analytics, and Google My Business to identify and reach new clients.

"Google helps give us the data and metrics we need to help our business grow and thrive, provide good jobs and career opportunities, and meet the needs of our diverse customers and industries we serve," says Eric Peterson, president of Suburban Bolt and Supply Company.

"We know this digital work accounts for about 40 percent of our company’s web traffic that’s directly resulted in at least 126 new customers. We’re excited about what’s next--even more so now with Google behind us."

For a company that was founded in 1971, it’s a good example of a company transitioning out of the 20th century and into the 21st, utilizing modern technologies and techniques to gain new customers.

Suburban Bolt and Supply is located at 3754 Griswold Rd. in Port Huron.
