Ishpeming

The city of Ishpeming is as historic as any site in the UpperPeninsula, featuring such sites as the magnificent Mather Inn as well as theNational Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame and the famous Suicide Hill Ski Jump.Ishpeming was home to John Voelker, who penned the book "Anatomy of a Murder,"and was the primary area that the subsequent movie, starring Jimmy Stewart, wasfilmed in. Ishpeming is also known for being home to the popular band DaYoopers as well as Nobel Prize winner Glenn T. Seaborg. A little known factabout the area is that it was the town in which the Green Bay Packers playedtheir first road game in October 19, 1919. It is also the home of Bell Hospitaland the Michigan operations of Cleveland Natural Resources.
