BBQ returning to Marquette via new food truck

Soon the smell of barbecue will be wafting through the air again in Marquette, and it won't just be backyard grills going.

Wild Blue BBQ is a food truck owned by Scott Stanley that has been on the barbecue circuit throughout the midwest, Kansas, Missouri, Iowa and Oklahoma and has brought home first-place finishes in the pork category at both the Iowa State Championship (2011) and the American Royal BBQ (2012). It's most recent home is in Marquette, and Stanley indicated on the company's Facebook page that he was working towards getting his operation up and cooking as soon as possible.

He said he plans to have his food license from the state of Michigan in the very near future and will be posting his times and locations on his Facebook page as soon as he is able, as well as his menu.

One thing is for certain, another food truck in the U.P. is a welcome site. Dia de los Tacos and Senors Food Truck could use the company, especially of the barbecue kind, especially with the brick-and-mortar location for Rollin' Smoke and the popular Union Grill both being closed down (though the latter is now home to the outstanding Das Steinhaus Market).
