Estler named VP of Michigan Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus

What's happening: Travel Marquette CEO Susan Estler has been named vice president of the Michigan Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus (MACVB) for 2023. She will move up to the vice president role after serving two years on the board as a member at large. Estler is the only officer for the MACVB from the Upper Peninsula; Visit Keweenaw’s Brad Barnett is a board member at large.

What is the MACVB: The MACVB is an organization that serves “Destination Marketing Organizations” across the state, helping with projects involving advocacy, educational, marketing and networking opportunities. There are roughly 50 organization members in Michigan, with nine of them being in the Upper Peninsula when including Mackinac Island.

What they're saying: “I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to help lead the Michigan Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus this year in my role as vice president,” Estler said. “Through my ongoing work at Travel Marquette and this exciting position at MACVB, I hope to continue to support travel to the great state of Michigan and do my part to promote our beloved region of in Marquette County.”

What's next: Estler will remain the leader of Travel Marquette, while working with and the MACVB on different advocacy and tourism programs across the state. The roles will allow Estler to serve both organizations.
