Kevin Lusby and his wife, Jennifer, opened an old time barbershop in Old Town Lansing near the Rossman Group.
The Old Town Barbershop is a traditional barbershop that offers hot steam towels, hot lathers, straight razor shaves, facials and haircuts.
Lusby is originally from Missouri. His wife is originally from Canada. The two lived in Warren and Flint before moving to Lansing. Lusby says Old Town’s been a perfect location for his shop.
“I really just like Old Town,” Lusby says. “It just has that old time feeling. It was my dream to open a traditional barbershop and this certainly is not your run of the mill barbershop.”
Lusby bought the shop in the summer, made some renovations and opened it Jan. 13. The 300-400 square foot shop includes two chairs and a waiting room. Lusby works with one other barber.
The Old Town Barbershop is located at 914 N. Washington Ave.
