Liquid Web is right on target with the construction of its new, 90,000 square foot data center, which is nearly complete.
“We were initially shooting for February,” says Liquid Web spokesman Travis Stoliker. “We are still on track for that, but because our existing data center isn’t full yet, we don’t need to have it done by February. For all intents and purposes, it’s completed.”
This is Liquid Web’s third data center. The new center includes 40,000 square feet of office space and 50,000 square feet of data space.
Originally, Liquid Web planned to add 10 jobs a month throughout 2009. Stoliker says that model’s changed a little bit, but will likely come to fruition in the next few months.
“Right now we’re hiring at half that,” Stoliker says. “We’ll probably ramp that up in the next couple of days or months. We’re still on track to have the 600 employees in that data center. It’s just a matter of how fast we do that.”
