A group of Webberville High School students recently participated in the first “Junior Police Academy,” an Ingham County Sheriff run program designed to teach students crime fighting skills.

The week-long event July 6-10 was the brainchild of Ingham County Sheriff's Deputy Jim Cousino, one of the two officers assigned to the ICSD Webberville post.
The program is believed to be the first of its kind organized by the ICSD.
"I serve as a community resource officer assigned to the school," Cousino said. "This is a way of making sure we're staying in contact with (students) over the summer."
