Research done by Ann Arbor-based
Cleantech Venture Network shows record investment into clean energy technologies in the first three months of 2007.
Excerpts:
Last year, venture capitalists spent about $2.4 billion to fund
projects in the alternative energy sector, compared with $917 billion
in 2005, which some experts say can be attributed to greater interest
in biofuels production.
Several Michigan companies have made great strides to become
beneficiaries of venture capital funding over the years. Some of those
companies include Adaptive Materials Inc of Ann Arbor, Advanced
Resource Recovery LLC in Inkster, Compact Power Inc. of Troy and
Danotek Motion Technologies in Ann Arbor.
