RazorThreat has come a long way – from a tech start-up to a firm on the cusp of big, big success. The company’s two recent hires are geared at taking the Royal Oak business to the next level, says spokeswoman Jenn Cornell.
RazorThreat makes a threat analysis console that’s different from any other product on the market, Cornell says, because it responds to predicted threats, not just known dangers.
"Normal security products like a firewall really block known threats," she says. "So if you are a hacker you would, say, take these five steps to hack into a network. It’s really predictable. But the RazorThreat console predicts and preempts attacks, can look at each organization’s unique network, and can identify risks and vulnerabilities to prevent attacks."
With the two new hires, RazorThreat is eyeing the federal market, Cornell says – one of the company’s new hires is director of sales for the federal market.
"They’re aggressively pursing federal markets, and financial institutions as well, pushing sales outward," she says. "The federal market is huge for them because they are a security product, and they’ve finally gotten past development of the technology, past the initial data phase and the product is ready to roll."
