New supply chain masters at UM to fill need in sector

University of Michigan will begin to offer a new master's degree in supply chain management to meet a demand in the market.

Excerpt:

"Supply chain management is the central nervous system of the global economy," said Dr. Ravi Anupindi who will be running the program.

"Detroit is a gateway for trade. $130 billion of trade passes through Detroit in a year - it's one of the biggest gateways in the world," he added.

"This is important for this state. Supply chain management is going to be increasingly important for the state of Michigan."
