5 UM professors receive Guggenheim Fellowships

Five members of the University of Michigan's faculty have been named as 2007 Guggenheim Fellows -- only 189 of nearly 2,800 applicants so honored.

Varian Collegiate Professor of Political Science; Roberto D. Merlin, professor of physics and of electrical engineering and computer science; and Piotr Michalowski, George G. Cameron Professor of Ancient Near Eastern Civilizations.
