We can always be more motivated, right? Some of us are already here in Michigan, some may need a boost. But how? What do we do? Some kids have an idea. Through "Motivate Michigan" ten points were put together to vote on that could light a fire, or at least a bigger fire, under our butts here in Michigan.
The "Motivate Michigan" student idea contest to
help regenerate growth in the state has entered Phase Two, online
voting.
You can view the top ideas and place your vote at www.motivatemichigan.org/vote.
Overall, 280 students representing 63 colleges and universities
throughout Michigan entered the competition.
Leading schools in the competition were Lake Superior State
University with 39 entries, the University of Michigan with 38, Western
Michigan University with 19, Wayne State University and Michigan State
University with 18, Ferris State University with 17 and Eastern Michigan
University with 16.
The scholarship fund is presently at $48,000. Organizers are still
welcoming additional contributions to the fund.
Topics in the "Top 10" include ideas to promote Michigan made
products; modify tax policies; implement alternative energy concepts;
stem the "brain drain" of college graduates leaving the state; promote
tourism; increase financial literacy; and leverage the maple syrup
industry within the state.
