John B. "Jack" O'Reilly Jr. has been elected mayor of Dearborn after a
special election held due to the untimely death of former mayor Michael
Guido.
Excerpt:
Although he's served as mayor pro tem since Guido's death, O'Reilly said he's been anticipating the day when the election process would end and he could begin working on some of his ideas. O'Reilly will serve a partial term, which ends Dec. 31, 2009.
In addition to serving as city council president for 17 years, O'Reilly previously worked as the executive director of the Southeast Michigan Community Alliance (SEMCA) since 1996 and the search is currently underway for his replacement.
