With it being a census year and all, there is a lot of talk about population -- both increases and decreases. And Michigan is no different. People are moving from one place to the next. An interesting map has been put together to show the population shift in the Great Lakes State. Southeast Michigan is faring quite well, with the exception of one county, when it comes to growth.

Michigan had an estimated 9,969,727 people in 2009, about 0.3% higher than the count on April 1, 2000. Recent U.S. census estimates show Livingston County had the largest percent increase in population (16.7%) among Michigan counties between 2000 and 2009, while Ontonagon County experienced the largest estimated decline (-16%).
