Gun Lake Casino ready to hire for positions for 2017

If you want to work in the gaming industry, Gun Lake Casino is looking for employees to staff its soon-to-be expanded business.

The casino is hosting a job fair from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturday, July 23  at the Gun Lake Tribal Administration Offices, across the street from the casino at 2872 Mission Drive in Shelbyville. It's seeking employees fill positions needed in anticipation of the opening of its expansion in the summer of 2017.

There will be  on-site interviews for table games, food and beverage, slots, cage, operations, and security positions.

The expansion of the Gun Lake Casino will include additional gaming floor square footage, a new 300-seat multi-station buffet, expansion of Stage 131 lounge and entertainment area, and expansion of team member dining room and lounge.

The new team member dining room and lounge will replace the current dining room. It will feature a break room, additional space for personal lockers, and a team member cafe, where team members eat a complimentary meal on every shift.

Applicants are encouraged to apply online ahead of time here.

“Gun Lake Casino is happy to offer great benefits, pay, and career advancement opportunities to all of our team members,” says Brent Arena, vice president and general manager for the casino. “While the expansion is not set to open until next year, we pride ourselves on delivering the best guest service and want to ensure all team members are trained in their respective areas.”

Gun Lake Casino is located off Exit 61 on U.S. 131, halfway between Grand Rapids and Kalamazoo. The casino features more than 1,600 slot machines, 33 table games, a food court, and a 225-seat cafe, along with bars, lounges, and live entertainment.

It is owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. The casino is operated by the tribe’s management partner, MPM Enterprises, LLC, owned by an affiliate of Station Casinos, Inc. and private investors from Michigan.
