Those looking for New Age and Earth-based spirituality items have a new place to shop and more.

Artes and Craft, at 67103 Red Arrow Highway in Hartford has opened its doors.

Pat Rose and Paul Barbary owners of Artes and Craft say they opened the store to offer a place for their customers to shop, worship, and celebrate.

“We wanted a venue to celebrate and respect the diversity of religions,” says Barbary.

The store had its official opening July 1 and a celebratory ribbon cutting with local officials on July 21.

Artes and Craft features multi-cultural and Renaissance clothing. It has incense, oils, and homemade soaps. Other items for sale include unique jewelry made by local artisans, blacksmithed items, and harvested wood supplies. There are books, candles, and other specialty items. Herbs are also for sale.

Rose and Barbary worked with the Women’s Business Center at Cornerstone Alliance to hone their business strategy and help determine if they should purchase an existing building or consider new construction for their store.

Ultimately, they purchased just over six acres of land in Hartford Township and built a 3,400-square-foot building.

The new construction includes a showroom for their retail products; a workshop room for classes, and consultation room.

Plans are in progress to add yoga and massage.

Hours: Artes and Craft is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays; open weekdays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
