Robb Smalldon named manager of Studio 431

Robb Smalldon has been named Manager of Studio 431 of Landscape Forms.

Smalldon will be responsible for leading the Studio 431 team of mechanical, design, manufacturing and CAD engineers and production specialists.

Smalldon joined Landscape Forms in 2001. During his tenure at Landscape Forms, Smalldon has worked in Manufacturing Engineering, New Product Development Engineering and most recently, he has been the customer interface and engineering lead for Studio 431.

He earned his Bachelor’s of Engineering degree from Western Michigan University.

Kirt Martin joins Landscape Forms as as Vice President, Design and Marketing

Kirt Martin has been named Vice President, Design and Marketing for Landscape Forms. He will be responsible for leading  Landscape Forms’ creative teams for Product Development, Marketing and Marketing Communications.

The Landscape Forms Product Design Team is currently led by retiring Vice President of Design, Arno Yurk. Martin will work closely with Yurk for the next few months to assure a smooth transition.

Martin previously directed industrial design activities at Turnstone, a division of Steelcase, which included directing internal and external designers. He also served as senior industrial designer for Steelcase Wood furniture.

He earned a 2001 IDEA Award, several Good Design Awards and Best of NeoCon Silver award.  Martin’s work has been featured in numerous trade publications including Metropolis, I.D., and Interior Design.

Erica Barajas joins Fair Food Matters as garden manager

I have been named manager of the Growing Matters Garden, a program of Fair Food Matters, Kalamazoo's nonprofit organization that supports and promotes local food. The Growing Matters Garden helps both children and adults learn about urban, organic gardening at two locations. I will manage both sites, set program goals, establish budget targets, assist in fundraising, hire and train garden staff and volunteers, create and implement community workshops on garden-related topics and coordinate the fall harvest.
