New antique store opens in Marquette

A new antique shop is open in Marquette.

Antique dealers Richard and Pat Hennessy and Steve LaForais opened Birdcage Antiques and Eclectic Decor alongside Karen Larson Interior Design at 1508 W. Washington Street.

It's a high-end antique store focusing on design and incorporating antique, vintage and new furniture, art and design items.

"People have compared the shop to a gallery because we take care to choose high quality pieces and arrange them beautifully," says Pat Hennessy.

The Hennessys and LaForais are long-time antique dealers, also owning Lowenstein's Antique Marketplace in downtown Negaunee. They also buy antiques and can make in-home appointments. Birdcage Antiques and Eclectic Decor is open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
