Case joins LSSU as director of admissions

Lake Superior State University has a new director of admissions who'll be familiar to those in the Sault Ste. Marie business community: Allan Case.

Case comes to the school from his previous role as the executive director of the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce. He'll replace Susan Camp, who retired as director of admissions at LSSU in November.

"Al was viewed by the university community as the clear front-runner in a national search process to fill the position," says William Eilola, vice president for LSSU Enrollment Services. "We look forward to his return to LSSU and to his leadership in the LSSU Admissions Office."

He formerly was the assistant director of admissions at LSSU, and has remained an adjunct instructor in the communication studies department. Case also received his bachelor's degree at LSSU and moved on to a master's degree in education at Michigan State University.

In related news, the Sault Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a new executive director. The job includes leading the organization, managing and analyzing the budget, coordinating events, collaborating with other community organizations, and being the public face of the chamber.

Some desired qualifications are a bachelor's degree in a related field; experience in budget management, staff supervision and communications; and experience in membership retention, event planning, public relations and media.

Resumes with references and salary history should be sent to the Executive Director Search Committee at 25811 I-75 Business Spur in Sault Ste. Marie by January 16.
