MedHub hires 2 as it continues to rack up new clients

MedHub growth streak is not only continuing, but really starting to accelerate in 2012. The Ann Arbor-based medical software start-up continues to add staff because its client list keeps growing.

The University of Colorado/U.C. Denver School of Medicine Anschutz Medical Campus is the most recent addition. It's also part of a growing trend for MedHub which is seeing more clients switch from other providers to MedHub's more expensive software.

"We're bringing in more businesses than is comfortable," says Peter Orr, CEO of MedHub. "We brought in four contracts in the last week. We did more business in the first quarter of 2012 than we did last year."

MedHub uses web-enabled enterprise residency management solutions to improve communication, collaboration and residency information management in teaching hospitals. The 8-year-old firm provides a system that tracks residents and fellows (advanced medical school students in training to become doctors) in order to ensure hospitals get all of the Medicare reimbursements they are entitled to.

MedHub is working to move into a new headquarters in Dexter, rehabbing one of the village's historic buildings into modern office space. The new home is necessary because the company continues to add staff, which now stands at seven people. It has hired two new computer programmers in the last three months, including one that was a direct result from a Concentrate story. Orr expects to hire another 3-4 people this year.

"We expect growth to continue unabated," Orr says. "We have a couple of big jobs that we are close to landing. We could potentially double in size this year."
