This is the latest good news for Redford Township's downtown district at Beech Daly and 5 Mile roads. The completion of the Redford Township Medical Building, operated by Botsford Hospital, will bring in new facilities for family, OBGYN and physical therapy practices.

"It's going to be a nice addition to the downtown area and the township," says Michael Dennis, community development director for Redford Township. "It's been a long planning process and the owner really worked hard to build it. Botsford Hospital is excited to open it up."

The single-story, 12,000-sqaure-foot medical facility will create about 30 jobs and was made possible by a $167,000 Single Business Tax credit from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

It replaces an old gas station and the former home of the Redford Jaycees, which was at one time an old church, on the east side of Beech Daly. That intersection has seen an infusion of investment in recent years, helping to bring back its former urban center status.
