Mt. Pleasant native finishes Great Lakes marathon swim

Sometimes the geography gets a little confusing when out-of-staters write about Michigan (we don't think a lot of Michiganders would say the Mackinac Bridge is near Mount Pleasant) but that doesn't diminish the accomplishment of a Mount Pleasant native living in Minnesota, who's completed a marathon swim.

Excerpt: Rochester resident Cathy Nagler's marathon swim in Lake Michigan on July 24 was a success.

She vividly recalls its final moments, near the end of a 7.4-mile effort along the west side of Mackinac Bridge, near her childhood home of Mount Pleasant, Mich.
