New York Times: Bike blogger makes a rest stop in South Haven

A reporter and blogger for the New York Times has taken his bicycle across America. Bruce Weber has been trying to average 300 miles a week, or about 50 miles a day with one day off each week. He’s making his second cross-country trek. The weather recently brought him to a standstill in South Haven.

Excerpt:

This is a pleasant town with a handsome harbor, a resort-ish stop for boaters, located in the northwest corner of a county known for its blueberries. Not a bad place to be stuck, actually, with a variety of places to eat, a bicycle shop (where I’ll take advantage of a day off to get a tuneup) and a first-run movie house where admission, a tub of popcorn and a bottle of water cost $8.50 — a miracle to a New Yorker.
