Real estate check: Marysville edition

With new restaurants opening up and the investment of a new city hall, the community of Marysville is becoming an increasingly attractive option for those looking to move in St. Clair County. We thought it would be a good time to take a look around town and get an idea of what the real estate market is like. Here are three of those homes.

1638 New Jersey in Marysville
1638 New Jersey Avenue: $95,000

This 1950s-era ranch is well kept and pretty cute, to boot. Set back from the road with a large front yard, the home features two bedrooms and one bath, perhaps ideal for empty nesters or others without children. Or, you know, there’s always bunk beds. Within a football’s throw away from Washington Park and, just beyond that, Washington Elementary.

133 Gratiot Boulevard
133 Gratiot Boulevard: $214,900

While it may not be the flashiest house on the block, this non-descript home is actually a boater’s dream, with a great view of the St. Clair River, large back deck, and updated boat hoist. Built in 1987, this split-level ranch also has new vinyl siding installed just within the past few months. That large back yard on the water and big back deck make it an ideal spot for barbecue parties with friends and family, but if you don’t feel like grilling out, Gratiot Boulevard Coney Island is just steps away.

1000 Joanwood Drive Marysville
1000 Joanwood Drive: $224,900

Built in 1994, this 1,800 sq. ft. home is a stunner from the drive, with a charming front porch and gabled windows. And though it’s well-kept and maintained, the two-story home comes with a $5,000 carpet and paint allowance. The cape cod-style home features a big back deck, large lot, and a quiet street on the southwest side of town.
